Life is beautiful .... always enjoy the happy moments

It's been slow progress on my life is beautiful, I have however got the stitcheries I have stitched sewn up into the blocks.  I decided to sew as I go so I didn't have the whole process at the end of the stitching.

I found this saying recently on our computer and felt it was appropriate to our family at this point in time, where we are currently hoping for the best for my sister and her family, her husband had been in a serious car accident a month ago but we now know he will never walk again... But we all hope for a  a good quality of life...

I therefore find this quilt life is beautiful and the quotes stitched into this quilt to be poignant to this time in our life ...

As I sit her this morning contemplating my day... I have the youngest in bed unwell... I enjoy my kids being home during the weekdays as I get to spend special time with them ....
I think it will be stitching the last block and stitching the circles onto the blocks for final sewing....

Rested and ready for Winter

Just back from 10 days being lazy around the pool in Fiji rested and relaxed ready for Winter.... missing that sun though, it was 30  32 most days and 1 hour of rain in total for us, I now feel like I have had a summer...

Sofitel Fiji resort

I achieved a small amount of stitching on my life is beautiful blocks.  Since being home I have achieved the housework and enjoyed the last week of the school holidays with the girls....

I am currently working on the Foxley Village block of the month Natalie Bird's BOM,

Work is also continuing on the Flower blocks I have 7 complete now.

A group of ladies are heading to a sewing retreat next weekend, so I am preparing for that as I am organising.

Stitching circles for life is beautiful

Circles galore for life is beautiful.....  Stitch the stitcheries and then make the four square blocks .... Then form the circles .... Appliqué them onto the four square blocks .... Cut out the back of the stitcheries to obtain the circles for the alternate blocks.... Then cut out the smaller circles for them to be appliqués in the corner of the joining blocks ... And we'll it's coming together..... Just another WIP

Stitch the stitcheries

Make the four square blocks

Appliqué circles on then cut out the back and you get....

These are then appliqués onto the alternate blocks

Then cut out back as before and you have a smaller circle to be used for corners

As shown here....

JUST BEAUTIFUL....

How is your quilting/crafting/stitching going?

Life is Beautiful

Its spring here in NZ, so where is the spring like sun??  So far cold and hail driving rain!  We need spring PLEASE...

Here are the start of the blocks I have begun for life is beautiful...  this is by Helen Stubbings HugsnKisses and you can choose all sorts of colourways..  I have had this in the cupboard for at least three years... hence I am trying to clear away all those projects that have been patiently waiting for me....  I have put my do not look at that project its beautiful but.. on high alert and said DO NOT BUY....

Have you looked in your cupboard lately and calculated how long to clear all those projects..  so many a year, how many good  years of stitching left??  Its inevitable we all buy too much... and have too many stitching ambitions.. but just keep on keeping on if it makes you happy...

So my goal this year was to get those to do's under way and make the finished pile higher..
I am quite pleased how it's going so far.
