Red home first class quilt finished

Wow look at this beauty, first quilt in my appliqué techniques class top complete.  One happy lady well done!

Back from a well deserved break but soo much to do soo little time and its nearly October.

Here is the lorax quilt I whipped up last Sunday and finished this past Monday.

I wish to have more completed on my Love Entwined, but class preparation has been taking over and family commitments,  soon I will get to that, perhaps less time looking at all the fantastic blogs might help also.  Thanks for stopping by, see you soon

My Woo Hoo moment

Do you sometimes have that wooho!! moment  well I did I have my Red Home quilt top complete with borders, I have even bought the backing, not sure how long it will take to get this together but lets hope not too long,  think I might send it to the long arm quilter for tacking together.

Can you believe I was meant to make this quilt,  I even have the same dog as in the book.

Now I am working on the bag in this book and I have done the pin cushion also.

Today the sun is shining and I have started something from my head a sneak peak here

Perhaps a cushion with lovely red French general fabric on the back.  What do you think? Perhaps some lovely thick rick rack in the birch colour?

Then I am inspired to finish a few things.  What first?  Fairyland!Yes a must do the 7 year old is turning 8 so a must do!! Mariners compass!Such fun.  Down in the Garden!(nearly done)Wool Owl! Anni Downs Bag! Baltimore Applique! Will I get these done before I turn 60?  A few years to go yet but look there is more in the cupboard. I tell myself don't start something new until you get two things completed!  Do you forever want to start new things?

Happy Stitching for today

Its together and first Border on! Red Home

Sometimes I do not know where the days go, its 3pm and school pickup before you know it.
I have been fruitful today, requested Banana Choc Chip Muffins for the 7 year old, homemade  vegetable soup for me, Dinner all prepared and in the crockpot.  Yeah I even had time to put together the red home blocks and first border.

Here it is, doesn't it feel good when the quilts start coming together.

Applique Red Home final Blocks

Hello  How did April arrive without fanfare, I even forgot April fools day in the middle of Easter and now we have the end of daylight saving here in New Zealand, colder dark days to come.  We have however managed to squeeze some more heat out of Mr Sun today here in Invercargill.

I have four more blocks complete and finishing the final applique block and yes I will get onto putting these together tomorrow.

I am changing the final block from the dog on the scooter to a bird from Anni Downs book My favourite things.

Red Home Applique addiction

Another three blocks complete, not quite within the week but hey I have been busy looking after my Mum who has just had a back operation.

These were quick to stitch and fun to put personality into the cat and the girl.

Not sure how many more to go hopefully not many, I want to get this quilt together.

Red home just addictive to stitch

Red Home - Natalie Bird

I have finally got back to red home and I am enjoying the journey it's amazing how quickly it goes together when you spend some time needle turning.  Here is what is done so far hope to get some more up to show you next couple days.

How do you get more time in the day?  I wish someone would tell me, I am sure it would be very expensive to buy.  MAYBE you are not meant to sleep when you have all these projects to create.

Enjoy the summer days, it feels like autumn is trying to peek through these mornings, just think you won't feel guilty stitching when winter is upon us.

Happy Stitching.  Remember Easter Bunny will be here soon enough 28th March for New Zealand.
